BlackBerry Trackball Replacement Video Tutorial

During the period of 2010, the Blackberry into a new phenomenon in the world of mobile telecommunications. Phones that use the qwerty design is prevalent in almost all over the world, including in my country of course.

One of the features used in the cell phone is Blackberry trackball, the navigation tools to browse the menu on the phone. However, the actual trackball has many weaknesses, among which most often happens is that these objects are very easily affected by dirt, especially of the hand. The dirt on the hands will move to a trackball and then when it rolled out, the dirt will get into the phone.

Here I share a video tutorial how to change the trackball on the Blackberry. Happy watching.

Flashing Nokia BB5 with MX-Key

Doing flashing on BB5 Nokia phones require careful thought because the vendor has been protecting the security area. If the security area is damaged, the phone would be problematic, such as IMEI numbers into a question mark or turned into a serial number like 123456xxx and so forth.

Here are some things that can damage the security area:
  • Error flashing procedure
  • Full erase manually which resulted security area erased
  • Error write PM procedure/reprogram on eeprom area (write PM full)
  • Incomplete unlock procedure
  • Hardware changing like RAP or NorFlash
Before doing flashing on Nokia BB5, its better to backup RPL manually because if the security area damaged, we can restore the RPL file.

For step by step flashing Nokia BB5 phone using MX-Key, you can download the guide here.

Video Tutorial XS++

XS + + is a tool that can be used for flashing your Sony Ericsson. To do flashing with this tool, you do not need a flasher box, which you need only a data cable (data cable which is used to transfer data), this cable is usually included in the package.

The most important thing to consider when going to do the flashing is the condition of mobile phone battery. Make sure that phone battery fully charged more than half. Previously I've written a post about the tutorial using XS + +, but in this latest post I will share in the form of video tutorials.

Please download the tutorial video here.

Broken Keyboard Connector on Laptop Motherboard

Before I continue my post about mobile phone repair, I paste a trick to repair keyboard connectors on the motherboard laptop. Hopefully this can be useful for all readers of this blog.
Laptops have a lot in common with mobile phones, particularly in terms of connections between parts that use a very small connector so it is easily damaged. When we do the disassembly, if not careful in removing these connectors, it will cause damage to the connector. In some areas, like in my country, parts for laptops and mobile phone connector is quite difficult to find.
On this occasion, I'll share a trick to repair defective laptop keyboard connector. If you owned a laptop keyboard connector is damaged, there are only two options you can take, namely to replace the entire motherboard with a new laptop or use the external keyboard attached via USB. Why should replace the entire motherboard laptop? As I mentioned above that the spare parts for laptop keyboard connector is very hard to find or even not available in the market. But calm down, please try tricks that I share the following will, hopefully can be useful for you who have problems with your laptop keyboard.
The following figure is an example of a broken laptop keyboard connector.
In the picture above, you can see that the lock is broken at the edges (brown part). Thus, it can not lock the keyboard cable. But still, do not waste lock because we still can use it with add a little trick. How to install the broken clip? Ok, this is the steps.
Position the broken clip the way it was before. In this case, both sides of the connector are broken. Carefully insert the keyboard cable into the connector. Note, in this type of connector, the cable goes above the locking clip. Look at the picture below.

Carefully push the broken clip back in place. You can use a small screwdriver to push on the clip behind the cable. The clip fits tightly when there is a cable inside the connector.
Then, secure the connection with the sticky tape and you should be good to go. The keyboard should work just fine. Look at the picture.

Nokia N70 APE Regulator Problem

Here are some jumpers techniques for problems that occur in APE Regulators Nokia N70.

When a problem occurs with APE regulator, one of the solutions we can apply is to remove IC. However, by removing the APE regulator, there are some parts on phones that lack of tension that can cause some damage, such as:
  • The phone only shows a white screen (blank)
  • The phone displays the logo of Nokia, but can not continue the boot process.
When we remove the APE regulator, then we have to make some jumpers. Please see the following picture:

Jumper No. 1 is to overcome the problems that occurred, ie the phone only displays the logo of Nokia, but it can not continue the boot process. While the jumper No. 2 done to overcome the problems that occurred, ie the phone only displays a white screen (blank).

How to Repair Laptops Battery Charging Problems

Phone Repairing have good news for the visitors. Now, besides discussing about mobile repair, this blog will also discuss your laptop repair techniques. We got new speakers to write on this blog that will share ways to repair damaged laptop computer.
Ok, let's start the first discussion about the laptop computer repair techniques. The first problem we discuss is the battery problem. Just like mobile phones, laptop computers use a battery as a power source that makes it easy to carry wherever you go. However, like cell phones, laptop computers at any common problems in the charging process. There are some symptoms of damage to the laptop computer battery charging process. Here we will discuss one by one.
Laptop detects the battery but shuts off when AC adapter unplugged
When you place the mouse cursor on the battery icon on your laptop screen while the laptop is connected to the AC adapter, it show the remaining battery charge and there are writing "charging". You can see in the picture below :

The battery power meter utility (if available) also shows that battery is connected and charging. Look at the picture below :

But the problem occurs when you unplug the AC adapter, the laptop shuts off completely. If you have problems like this, here is the analysis of possible causes of damage.
  1. The battery not installed correctly, remove the battery and reinstall.
  2. The battery contacts got dirty or oxidized and the battery connection not good with the motherboard. Try reconnecting the battery a few times.
  3. If reconnecting the battery doesn't help your problem, most likely the battery is bad and has to be replaced with the new one.
  4. If you replaced the battery and the problem still exists, may be the problem occurs in the motherboard. Apparently the battery charging circuit has failed. In this case, the whole motherboard has to be replaced (or repaired on component level).
The battery not detected by the laptop
When you sure that the battery connected correctly and the battery condition is still good, but you see the red cross on the laptop screen in the battery icon, like the picture below:

For this problem, there are several possibilities that can cause this happen, namely:
  1. Most likely the battery is bad. Try to replace the battery with the new one to make you sure.
  2. If replacing the battery doesn't help, this is motherboard related failure. You have to replace the motherboard (or repairing on component level).
The battery discharges very quickly after it reaches some critical point.
The battery detected by the laptop and charges properly to 100%. When you unplug the AC adapter, it take normal time to discharge until some critical point (ex. 75%). But after that, the battery discharges very quickly to 0%.
If this is happen to your laptop computers, it was caused by the battery has been damaged or their condition was not good. Replace the battery with the new one.

The battery charges only if the power plug positioned correctly.
You have to wiggle the power plug in to charge the battery. After you find the right position, the battery charges properly.
If this happen on your laptop, there are several possibilities that cause this, namely:
  1. AC adapter failure. The AC adapter power cable is damaged. You can test it using AVO meter.
  2. If the AC adapter works fine, most likely this is power jack (connector where you plug power adapter) failure. You have to replace the connector.
In some laptop models, the power jack is not soldered to the motherboard, it's attached to a power harness. For example you can see in the picture below:

Hopefully useful, visit this blog regularly to find new post about mobile phones and laptops repairing guide.

Nokia 6300 LCD Problem

Nokia 6300 mobile phones are mobile phones which belong to the group BB5. These mobile phones have a fairly complete feature, music and camera quality is amazing. Some time ago, we received the task to repair the damage that occurs in the Nokia 6300 mobile phones. Damage occurs on the LCD, when mobile phones turned on, the screen displays only a white color but the phone can receive calls or make calls. At first we thought that the damage occurred on the LCD, but after we tried with good condition LCDs, mobile phones still show the same damage. After we did the examination on the part of the active component, there was no problem and the problem actually occurs in the passive components Capasitor.Although it rarely happens, but chances are it will stay there as we experienced. Capasitor who experience these problems is C2402. Here is the location of these components.

Nokia DCT-4 Flashing Guide

Hello friends ...
Some days I am very busy with offline tasks so that I rarely update this blog. However, this time I want to go back to share information with friends all about doing tricks on the mobile phone flashing Nokia DCT-4 is the case this time I use the Nokia 1600.

The case this time is the mobile phone always restart. Of course we all understand that this is caused by damage or inconvenience caused to mobile phone software. However, when I try to do flashing, mobile phones do not want to go to the local mode. When I click the tab info on Tornado UFS interface, mobile data can not be read. Then I tried directly to flashing. At the time I did the flashing, to erase the first area, second and third successful, but in the fourth area failed process.
If you find a similar case as I have, you can try tricks like I do. We do the settings in the "Skip erase from the area" from the default value becomes the value of the failed area removed. However, these new tricks I tried on a mobile phone, so I myself can not conclude that this trick can be applied to other models with the same case. Nokia 1600 which I flash with these tricks are now back to normal.
The settings I do it you can see in the following picture :

Nokia 3500 Classic switch on/off Problems

Some days I am busy with work offline, so this time I only had time to add the posting on this blog. We apologize to visitors if there is a question that responded late. Here's a troubleshooting guide for switching on / off button on the Nokia 3500 classic mobile phones. Damage to switch on / off mobile phones, mostly caused by a broken line, therefore, to be able to reconnect the broken lines correctly, we need help Schematic diagram.
In the case of the Nokia 3500 classic, here is a Schematic diagram of the switch on / off :

In Schematic diagram, we can see that the switch on / off connected to the ground and the L2405. Thus, the first step is to examine these points, whether connected with the good or not. If good, continue the examination of further components. And so on until the break point was found. The location of these components in the PCB board are as follows:

If you need a Schematic diagram of the Nokia 3500 in full, please download here.

Nokia 6020 problem

Some time ago I got a job again, which is to repair the Nokia 6020. Early damage, this phone does get wet. The owner forgot to remove it from his pants pocket, then pants are inserted into the machine, you'll know what happened? Mobile Nokia 6020 is dead.
The first step I do is wash the PCB board with ultrasonic cleaner. Once dry, I try to turn the mobile phone and turned it on. However, problems still occur on a mobile phone when not fitted with a SIM card, mobile phone power on normally. However, when installed SIM Card, phone alive but died instantly.

This happens because the IC PA problematic. To ensure that the PA problem, you may remove the L7700. These components are connected with Vbatt PA IC. After removing L7700, turn on the phone with a SIM card, when lit with a normal mobile phone (without signal of course), then certainly there are problems in the Power Amplifier IC. Change the Power Amplifier IC with the new one.
